There is a lot to see at Create Gallery & Frames
Our current featured exhibition, Nature’s Dialogue, brings together the work of Leo Bratenas and Fonny Davidson, but it is only the beginning of what you’ll find throughout the gallery. Paintings, sculpture, photography, ceramics, jewelry, and other original work from our roster of artists fill the space, giving visitors plenty to discover beyond the featured exhibition.
And while we love sharing the work online, photographs can only do so much.
Scale changes things. Texture changes things. Standing in front of a piece and noticing something you completely missed on a screen changes things.
If you haven’t stopped into Create lately, September is a particularly good time to come see what’s here.

Nature’s Dialogue: Leo Bratenas + Fonny Davidson
At the center of September is Nature’s Dialogue, our two-person exhibition featuring Leo Bratenas and Fonny Davidson.
The exhibition brings two distinct artistic perspectives into conversation through their relationships with the natural world. Leo and Fonny approach landscape and nature differently, creating an exhibition where contrast is just as important as connection.
If you have already seen pieces from Nature’s Dialogue on our social media or website, seeing them in the gallery adds another layer. Details become more apparent, scale becomes tangible, and the differences between each artist’s approach are much easier to experience when their work shares the same physical space.
Nature’s Dialogue is on view at Create Gallery & Frames throughout September.

Elliot Adler: Energy, Movement and the Idaho Outdoors
There is also plenty to discover beyond this month’s featured exhibition.
Among the artists currently represented at Create is Elliot Adler, whose expressive work brings energy and movement to the gallery.
His painting Wade for It captures a moment that feels particularly at home in Idaho: an angler immersed in the experience of being on the water. The loose, energetic quality of the painting gives the scene a sense of movement that is difficult to fully appreciate in a photograph.
It is a piece that deserves more than a quick scroll, especially for anyone drawn to fishing, the outdoors, or artwork that feels active and immediate.

Roy Tamboli: Art From Every Angle
A visit to the gallery also gives you something a photograph has an especially difficult time capturing: sculpture.
Roy Tamboli’s work brings dimension, form, and a completely different visual experience into the gallery. His sculptures are meant to be experienced from more than one viewpoint. As you move around a piece, its shape, surface, shadows, and relationship to the surrounding space change with you.
That physical presence is part of the work.
Roy’s sculptures also provide an important contrast to the paintings and works on paper throughout Create. They are a reminder that original art does not have to live on a wall to completely transform a space.

Stephen Rybacki: A Process Worth Seeing Up Close
Stephen Rybacki’s work is another example of why seeing original art in person matters.
His distinctive oxidation process creates surfaces with organic variations in color, texture, and pattern. Rather than simply applying color to create an effect, the materials and process themselves become part of the finished work.
That produces details that can be difficult to communicate through a screen.
Viewed up close, the surfaces reveal subtle shifts and variations that make each piece distinctly its own. It is work that rewards taking a little extra time to look.

And That’s Still Not Everything
One of our favorite things about having a gallery filled with work from different artists is that no two visits have to feel exactly the same.
Beyond Nature’s Dialogue and the work of Elliot Adler, Roy Tamboli, and Stephen Rybacki, visitors can explore original work from artists working across a range of styles and mediums.
You may walk in expecting to be drawn to a painting and leave thinking about a sculpture.
You may discover an artist you have never encountered before.
Or the piece you have passed several times online may be completely different when you finally stand in front of it.
There is no correct way to experience a gallery, and you certainly don’t need to walk through the door already knowing what you like.
Sometimes you just have to come look.

Come See What’s at Create
Photos are a great introduction to art. They are not the whole experience.
Stop into Create Gallery & Frames this September to see Nature’s Dialogue, spend some time with work from artists throughout the gallery, and discover pieces you may not have encountered online.
You don’t need to be an art collector. You don’t need to be shopping for anything. And you definitely don’t need to know what you’re “supposed” to like.
Come in, look around, and see what catches your attention.
